Part 8: Zoom Loom Yarn Explorations

Fiber blends are fun to try out on the Zoom Loom, like these these swatches below from  SweetGeorgia Yarns Silk Crush (50% superwash merino/50% silk) in Orchid, a DK weight semi-solid with a really nice feel We love the feel and sheen the silk lends to this swatch!

Below: Skacel Collection distributes HiKoo yarns from New Zealand, and we got to try out Kenzie, a tweedy 50% merino/25% nylon/10% angora/10% alpaca/5% silk noils blend, in color #1005 (orange) and #1008 (green). This is the yarn used to such good effect in last month’s Zippy Bow Tie zoom loom project. You’ll love the feel and “tooth” of the fabric made with this yarn.

Below is Sincere Sheep‘s Luminous, a DK weight 85% polwarth wool/15% silk blend. Even though just 15% of this yarn is silk, it certainly adds to the look and feel of this yarn. We’d love to see this woven into a patch-work like vest with a simple crochet trim.
